The Hardy and Intelligent Bernese Mountain Dog

The Bermese Mountain dog thrives in cold weather (just like me). I love cold weather these days better than in my youth when I only lived for summer time to roll around. The Bermese is an intelligent and strong dog. Both qualities originally helped him to perform work on the Swiss farms.

Today he enjoys a life playing sports and spending time with his human companions. They are known to get along with the entire family, however, they may become especially attached to ONE lucky human within their family unit. He seems to play favorites within his family unit, much like many humans do in their family units.

He has an aristocratic appearance with an ancient lineage. He has long felt at home on the farms in midland Switzerland.  (source: American Kennel Club)

Provide the Bermese Mountain dog a small fenced in yard as a place of convenience and safety. He is by nature moderately active. For adequate exercise plan a minimum of 30 minutes of moderately active exercise daily. A nice 30 minute walk with you is one source to meet his daily requirements in exercise. Engage in "positive" training methods and use the Life's Abundance training treats. One treat that comes to mind for me now and that my dogs love as well as respond positive to is the Tasty Rewards Nutritional Treats.

  • Positive reinforcement has never tasted so good
  • Perfectly sized for carrying in your pocket
  • Gluten free, no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors
  • Made in USA with Chicken and lamb from New Zealand

Good behavior should be rewarded, but often training treats are empty-calorie treats with no nutritive value and include undesirable ingredients. At Life's Abundance, we strongly believe that you should only feed treats that can help to support overall health.

Tasty Rewards are wholesome nutritional treats made from New Zealand-raised chicken and lamb.
They’re loaded with proteins, minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids. And, like all of our foods, supplements and treats, you’ll find no added artificial preservatives or colors..
With Tasty Rewards Nutritional Treats, discipline can be delicious!

The above picture is enlarged of course. These treats are tiny bite size treats just perfect for rewarding any dog during training sessions. They taste good and are highly nutritious as well.

I recommend using Life's Abundance Revitalizing Shampoo, and of course always clean the ears with Life's Abundance Ear Cleaner, a must for any dog breed. You can add the other grooming products as you see the need. You can take your products to the groomer to use in place of whatever they presently use. The Bath Fresh Mist product from Life's Abundance will help you "untangle" the hair or coat of any dog breed.

Ancestors of the Bernese dogs were brought into Switzerland over two thousand years ago by invading Roman soldiers. The Bernese Mountain dogs occupational roles were drovers, draft dogs and watchdogs in farmyards mainly in Canton of Berne, Switzerland. (source: American Kennel Club)

Are you a breeder of the Bermese Mountain dogs or any other dog breed? If so, you will need to recommend a food to your buyers. Why not recommend a food that PAYS you to recommend month after month, year after year?
