Exercise for the Pregnant Dog

You, the breeder, is also an obstetrician at the time your dog is pregnant. To help her pregnancy and delivery you need to keep her in peak condition physically and emotionally. If she is not use to much exercise at all, you definitely need to tone her up during her pregnancy. Even a mild exercise routine will improve the health of your pregnant dog.

Beginning and maintaining a regular exercise routine is not hard or expensive. The ideal time, however, is before your dog becomes pregnant. A mild program of exercise may be safely continued to the seventh week of pregnancy. The best exercise is simply daily walks. And remember moderation is the best approach.

Toy dogs and small breed dogs, may be toned with a half mile daily. However, you may want to work up to a mile depending on the weather and both your physical conditions. Beyond building and toning your dog's physique, the sharing of a common recreation is good for her emotional health as well.

Start your daily walks during the cooler hours of the warmer months, the warmer hours of the colder months. Each time of year has its own special dangers for your dog. Begin your walks half-mile, one-quarter mile out, one-quarter mile back. Increase the distance the following week to a half mile out and a half mile back. Once you reach the half-mile level you can jog with your pregnant dog if you desire, a few minutes at a time, but walking is highly recommended. Continue on this program until you are walking at least one mile daily if you desire.

In hot weather, the dog's body is closer to heat reflected from paved surfaces. Care must be given to exercising during periods of hot weather. Dogs sweat through their pads and tongue. If your dog is breathing heavily with glazed eyes and a hanging out tongue, she could be in serious danger. Take along plenty of water and watch her for signs of "getting too hot." You don't want her to get over-heated at all.

If she plops down or has minor tremors the moment she stops walking, get her to an emergency vet clinic as soon as possible. These are signs of heat exhaustion. So be careful about this.
In cold weather, never leave a warm house and begin jogging right away. Muscles need to be stretched and warmed up to prevent injury, lameness or soreness. Winter months in areas of snow can be dangerous. Aside from slipping and falling, certain areas are often spread with slip retardants such as sand, salt or other chemicals. The salt and chemicals are harmful to the dog's foot pads. If you have no choice during the winter of exercising in areas free from chemicals, purchase water/chemical-proof booties, and rinse your dog's feet thoroughly after returning home.
In either hot or cold weather, check your dog's feet daily.

Check the pads and the soft-tissue areas between the pads for damage such as rawness, swelling, splitting or discoloration. Keep the nails trimmed.

There is no reason for a normally active and healthy expecting matron to have her physical activities restricted. Such restrictions could be harmful to her during delivery through lack of muscle tone. Restriction from normal activity can also promote an emotionally discontent pregnant dog. Her attitude can affect her puppies in utero and then later after whelping as well.

If your dog is used to playing with children, let her continue to do so at her own will and pace. Explain to your children to be extra careful with your pregnant dog and avoid roughhouse play. Tell the children in terms they can easily understand, such as: Fetch is fine. Wrestling is out.
Always comfort your pregnant dog and let her know of your devotion to her with words and actions she is familiar with. Soon the little rascals will arrive and everyone will be soooo happy!

Feed your expecting matron a high quality puppy food during pregnancy, one such as is offered through Life's Abundance according to the breed, small/medium or large.

Separation Anxiety

Crating your dog when you leave him alone might seem easier, but it may not be the best approach to keep him out of trouble. And it may even cause your dog to experience more separation anxiety. Crating was developed as a method of housebreaking. If you will spend a modest amount of time training a puppy, they will have many years of satisfying companionship. Caging is fine if used for only a few hours at a time when you can't be there to supervise. Caging should never become a permanent way of life. Excessive caging can lead to problems.

Some of the worst behavior problems seen in dogs were dogs that were crated for long periods of time. Some dogs cannot tolerate any time in a cage at all; they panic and fight to get out. It is also true that some dogs really do like their cages and find them a cozy refuge, a den to retire in away from the hustle and bustle of everything else. Caging or crating is an acceptable method of housebreaking if used in moderation.

Dogs who chew wildly and scratch walls are not being spiteful. Dogs don't have the intelligence to be spiteful. Most dogs want nothing more than to spend time with "people." They are very sociable and are always quite content to be slab dab in the middle of everything "their people" are doing, regardless of what it is. When you are away they sometimes can become anxious and some might even become frantic. So what can you do?

They need help becoming more comfortable when they are alone and they need to learn that you will return after you go out. If possible, devote several consecutive days addressing the problem and plan on more time to reinforce any progress you make. Give your dog attention, but if he decides to walk off and curl up in a corner to sleep, let him be, if he does not follow you when you leave a room, don't encourage him to do so if it is not necessary. You want to teach him to be okay by himself even if it is only in another room.

Start conditioning the dog for your absences. You might exercise the dog so he will be ready for a nap and make sure he has relieved himself. Then, leave him alone in his space. Don't make a big deal about it because you don't want him to think that your leaving him is a big deal. Leave the dog alone for a minute or two while you go elsewhere in the house or into the yard. Do this several times through the first day of conditioning training. If he remains calm, increase the time. Work up to about 10 minutes. If all goes well, do the same the next day. This time, leave and go somewhere else. Take a walk up the street or take a short ride in the car for 5 minutes, then return. When you leave, try to leave him joyously and when you return, try to return with a joyous greeting, so that he associates you leaving and you returning on the same note, something not so bad, but something joyous and that you always return. Work up to 15 minutes, then slowly work up to a couple of hours. Leave and return quietly.

You want your dog to learn that leaving and returning is nothing to get tore up about. If you return and the puppy has been destructive do not scold him. he won't know what you are scolding him about and this will only make things worse. His anxiety will increase. If you see destructive behavior, take a step backward, decrease the time you are away and build back up again. If you do not have the time to devote to this conditioning training, then you may have to find a dog sitter to leave your dog with if he is one that becomes anxious or destructive when you are away, at least until you have time to devote to training.

These are just a few tips to help you deal with a dog who truly might have separation anxiety or to prevent separation anxiety from becoming a problem. I hope this helps.

    Dog Food Allergens

Ingredients that your dog may be allergic to include beef and beef by-products, milk, yeast, yeast-containing foods, brewer's yeast (as given to dogs for supposed flea protection), corn and corn oil, pork, turkey, eggs, particularly the whites. Never give eggs raw. Always avoid rawhide and cow hooves chews.

Other ingredients might be fish and fish oils. To provide omega-3 fatty acids, which are very beneficial, you should look for foods prepared with flaxseed oil. Dogs may be allergic to foods containing wheat and wheat by-products (when in combination with other allergens) and soybeans.

Any dog can become allergic to any food. It might be a protein source, a fruit, a vegetable and just a small amount of the offending food could cause reactions. Food allergies may present with symptoms of intestinal upset such as vomiting or loose stools.

The first three ingredients on the label usually make up most of the contents. Avoid any kind of dog food that contains chemical additives, artificial colors, artificial flavors, sweeteners, chemical preservatives and stabilizers. All these types of ingredients have the potential to cause problems for your shih tzu and give them nothing in the way of adequate nutrition.

I believe a daily supplement is needed for optimum health. For best results feed Life's Abundance dog foods, formula suited to your breed of dog, small, medium or large or the grain free formula plus the daily Wellness Supplement, or you go with their All Stage Daily Nutrition System that includes a Wellness Supplement:

    Blow Drying Shih Tzu Hair

The shih tzu is one of the rare breeds that actually have hair like humans instead of fur. A Shih Tzu's hair is its crowning glory.

    Blow-Drying:

The reason for blow-drying your Shih Tzu's hair after a bath is to get the coat as fluffy as possible. You want a lush, powder-puff look. To blow-dry a Shih Tzu's hair:

    1. Place the damp dog on the table.
    2. Work from rear to front.
    3. Hold the dryer in one spot. As the hairs blow apart, brush the Shih Tzu's coat out once again.
    4. Brush until the area is completely dry.
    5. Move on the next spot.

Always use Life's Abundance Dog Grooming Products.

To get a good blow-dry of your Shih Tzu's hair be especially systematic. Otherwise, some areas will look kinky and curly. If the Shih Tzu's hair dries too quickly, dampen the kinky areas and blow them dry.

If your Shih Tzu's coat is heavy and thick, you will need a stronger dryer with a more powerful air flow to achieve the desired look. Do not brush your Shih Tzu's hair heavily while blow-drying. Light, quick strokes are best.

If you have your Shih Tzu's hair cut short, you can use a regular cage and towel dry.

    Types of Dryers:

There are at least four types of dryers you can use at home for your Shih Tzu the same as a professional would use. These are:

    1. A cage dryer.
    2. A floor dryer.
    3. A wall dryer.
    4. A Pet dryer.

Cage Dryer: After your bath your Shih Tzu, towel-dry and place your Shih Tzu in a cage. A professional cage dryer will hook onto the cage. Set the dryer to either warm or hot. Your Shih Tzu should dry in a short period of time.

Floor Dryer: A floor dryer is used for blow-drying. A floor dryer will usually have a stronger blow than a cage dryer. Floor dryers are usually mounted on a movable stand. You can move the dryer in a variety of positions.

Wall Dryer: A wall-mounted unit is also available. The maneuvering for blow-drying is done with a hose. There are several advantages to this type of dryer. They are:

    1. Does not take up space on the floor.
    2. The hose is easy to maneuver.
    3. Since the blow is stronger through the hose, the dryer requires less electricity.

Pet Dryer: Just about any human hair dryer can be used as a pet dryer. Some companies manufacture special made pet dryers. They work fine, but will not give you the same look as a professional dryer.

    Does Your Dog Chase Cars?

One of the most serious, and unfortunately most common problem behaviors among dogs is that of chasing cars. Dogs must be trained as early as possible that chasing cars is not acceptable. That is because dogs that chase cars eventually become dogs that catch cars, and car plus dog always equals big trouble.

There are many reasons that dogs of any breed chase cars. For one thing, chasing moving objects is an ingrained, instinctual behavior that can never be completely removed. Chasing behaviors, however can and should be controlled through a combination of good training and supervision.

Some dogs are more apt to chase cars, bikes, joggers, cats and other dogs than are others. Dogs that have a high prey drive, including breeds that have been bred for hunting, are particularly susceptible to the thrill of the chase. Herding breeds are also apt to chase cars, attempt to herd the neighbors children, or express other undesired traits of their breeding.

One reason that many dogs chase cars in particular is that they have learned to associate cars with good time and fun things. Most dogs love to ride in the car, and when they see a car they may try to chase it down for a ride.

No matter what your dog's motivation for chasing cars, however, it is important to curb this dangerous behavior as quickly as possible. Training the dog not to chase cars starts with teaching the dog the meaning of the Off command. The Off command is one of the basic tenets of obedience, and it must be mastered by every dog.

Teaching the dog to stay where he is, even if interesting, exciting things are happening elsewhere, is very important to all aspects of dog training. In the world of professional dog training, this is sometimes referred to as distraction training. Distraction training is very important, and it is applicable to teaching the dog not to chase cars.

Teaching this important lesson is not something you will be able to do on your own. You will need at least one other person, a volunteer who will slowly drive by and tempt your car with his bright, shiny object. You will stand with your dog on his leash as the volunteer drives by. Having the volunteer drive your own car can provide an even greater temptation, since dogs are able to distinguish one car from another. If your car is the one that provides his rides, it is likely to be the most tempting object in the world.

When your friend drives by, either in your car or his, watch your dog's reaction carefully. If he begins to jump up or move away, repeat the Off command and quickly return your dog to the sitting position. If he remains where he is, be sure to give him lavish amounts of praise and perhaps a treat or two. Use Life's Abundance's Gourmet Dental Treats and you will be killing two birds with one stone (1) These treats help remove plaque and tartar from the dog's teeth as they eat them. (2) You are rewarding a good behavior with a tasty treat.

    Gourmet Dental Treats

    • For strong teeth, healthy gums & fresher breath
    • Wholesome ingredients including probiotics
    • Gluten free, no artificial preservatives or colors
    • Made with care in a USA bakery
Healthy teeth and gums are an important consideration for your dog’s overall health. Poor dental hygiene can result in health consequences throughout the whole body, not just the mouth.

Our Gourmet Dental Treats contain a variety of healthy grains, high-quality proteins plus hefty helpings of calcium and phosphorus, which are important nutrients for strong bones and teeth. And, we’ve included parsley to freshen your dog’s breath.

With Gourmet Dental Treats, you'll be helping to support dental health and treating your dog to scrumptious oven-baked goodness!

Feed as a snack as a part of your dog’s daily diet. Great for rewards or just to show your dog how much you love them!

Repeat this process many times over the course of a few days. Once your dog is reliably remaining seated when your friend drives by, start lengthening the distance between yourself and your dog. A long, retractable leash works great for this process. Slowly lengthen the distance between you and your dog, while still making sure you have control.

Even after your dog is trained to not chase cars, however, it is important to not leave him out off the leash unsupervised. Leaving a dog unattended, except for within a properly and securely fenced in yard, is simply asking for trouble. Dogs are unpredictable, and it is always possible that the chase instinct could kick in at exactly the wrong moment. The best strategy is to confine the dog when you cannot supervise him.

Dog Breeding: The Cord and the Placenta

If you need help removing the afterbirth:

First be sure your newborn puppy is breathing well on its own, the sac has been removed from the face, eyes, nose, head and the puppy has either been stimulated by mother or you, the doggie midwife, to breathe well on its own, you can then remove the afterbirth if it does not appear on its own of course.

To do this, with one hand about one inch from the stomach of the puppy, grasp the umbilical cord and, with the other hand close to the matron, gently try to pull the afterbirth down and out of the matron, but be sure you do not pull hard on the cord near the navel of the puppy.

If your  matron does not cut the cord of the newborn puppies, and sometimes this does happen, it is wise to have on hand before the whelping day, a pinch-type clothespin which has been cleaned in boiling water or sterilized in alcohol, or if you prefer, a professional hemostat. The clothespin should be closed on to the cord about two inches from the puppy's navel.

Once you have this in place, cut the cord (with sterilized surgical scissors) on the puppy side of the clothespin or hemostat. Now you have part of the umbilical cord hanging out of your matron with a clothespin or hemostat attached and the puppy should be in your hand with about two inches of umbilical cord left on the puppy. This method prevents the umbilical cord from slipping back up inside the mother.

If the cord hanging from the puppy does not stop bleeding after you have pressed it hard on the end between your fingers for several seconds, you can use another clothespin to pinch it on the very tip of the cord for a minute or two. This should cause the blood to clot. You can tie a piece of string or thread on the tip of the cord, but I have found just pressure with your fingers or the clothespin treatment does stops the bleeding.

You can also use the same kind of blood-clotting agents from pet supply houses that you use to stop the bleeding from a toenail cut too close. Cornstarch (cooking type) can be used in an emergency.

The cord just dries up and falls off eventually just as they do on newborn human babies. Sometimes there might get to be an infection. I have used just plain Neosporin antibiotic gel a little dab on the area if it does get infected, and this heals up nicely.

The placenta looks like a small chunk of very ripe liver. Yelk!! Birthing puppies is a very interesting and exciting process. I like best, however, when the mother is able and willing to do the entire process while I just watch this miraculous act of mother nature.

Whelping day has always been an exciting time for me and usually it occurs in the middle of the night, which is probably why I have got my entire routine of life on a 3rd shift schedule. Just put on a pot of coffee and relax. After it is all over, give your matron lots of attention and some special kind of food you know she likes. Make it sloppy food for the first few days after the whelping. I recommend using Life's Abundance canned food formulas. Any of them your matron likes is fine for this period of time.

    Dog Breeding Equipment and Tools

The main thing is to be prepared!

Have all your supplies ready before the big day arrives, preferably no less than one week prior to the due date.

Formerly dogs whelped just wherever, in the barn, under the porch. Today's breeder, however, has a real vested interest in their dogs, one of time, money, energy and emotional investment. Breeding puppies is a big, big job and full of labor. If you are passionate about breeding, however, it all boils down to labors of love!

    Westie pups

Care involves meeting nutritional and emotional support and detailed attention to the environment you provide during whelping and later. Not only is the whelping place of utmost importance to the physical and emotional well-being of your dogs, but also the "layette" you assemble to assist in the whelping and care of the puppies is of equal importance.

The whelping box is by far the largest and most obvious piece of equipment you must have. Cardboard boxes just won't do. There are manufactured whelping boxes you can purchase. You "can" use plastic storage bins (these are very easily cleaned). I like using a wood box the size of a child's toy box. I have mine special made to a specific size for each of my dogs. I have mine painted with a durable paint I can disinfect easily. I like to put some colorful decals of some sort for decoration on outside the box. I have mostly pastel colors like baby blue, baby yellow, baby pink. The wood boxes are warmer in my opinion.

I use regular heating pads in the boxes under the babies for extra warmth. These boxes can also be used as sleeping boxes of which most of my dogs adore. They can be made very cozy with soft blankets and homemade quilts, which my dogs also adore. The box should only be big enough for the mother to fully stretch out in. Bigger is not better. Most of my boxes measure outside 21 inches wide and 31 inches long. Inside the box is 18 inches wide and 29 inches long. I have a trim on the bottom that is 22 inches wide and 32 inches long. Whatever whelping box you use should be sturdy and should not rock, should allow the mother to climb in and out easily. A solution of Clorox bleach and water is a good disinfectant to use on the whelping box daily.

A good pet and kid friendly floor wash to use every day is Life's Abundance Bio-Base Floor Wash

    Bio  Base Floor Wash

    • Secret ingredient - microbial grease digestant
    • Effectively rids dirt, grime & odor
    • Safe on tile, carpet, trash bins hampers & more
    • One bottle makes up to 64 gallons of floorwash
Let friendly bacteria do the cleaning for you! Our Microbial Grease Digestant (MGD) Viable Bacterial Cultures live to serve, and they’re hungry for odor-causing organic detritus. Don’t just wipe away muck and grime, eradicate it completely!

This amazing product contains microbial grease digesters that eliminate dirt, grime and odor-causing microscopic debris. Just one bottle contains enough concentrate to make 64 gallons of cleaning product!

Bio-Base FloorWash works extremely well on waxed and polished floors, hardwoods, glazed ceramic tile, concrete, quarry tile, even brick. And best of all, it’s non-toxic, fully biodegradable, has a neutral pH and contains no harmful phosphates. Unlike other serious cleansers, ours emits no noxious odors. Pleasantly scented, with a hint of almonds.

As an added bonus, when you pour the discarded mop water into a sink, the MGD component continues to work, clearing your drain lines from grease build-up and lingering odors.

Safe for use around kids and pets.

The whelping box should be ready for occupancy about two weeks prior to the litter's due date. Show the mother her box as her personal territory. Encourage her to sleep in it before delivery. Let her get use to getting in and out of the box. A dog unaccustomed to her whelping box may refuse to use it. She may try to carry her babies off somewhere else. Exterior doors to the whelping box area should remain closed for the mother and puppies privacy. The environment should be draft-free and kept a consistent temperature.

The area you make for whelping should be large enough for the box, her food and water and a place to occasionally rest away from her puppies.

Be prepared to give up a portion of your home for no less than three weeks. My moms and puppies have a permanent spot reserved especially for them until delivery of the puppies. Ideally, do not move the mother and puppies from the area where puppies are whelped. Once puppies are able to try and climb out of the box, they can be moved along with mother to another location if you desire.

Expect your life to be disrupted when you and your dog mother are raising a litter. Most puppies arrive at odd hours, seldom during the day, most often in the middle of the night. You need to be present for each whelping, but especially for the whelping of a first time mom. Without you, mom may become confused or excited and scatter or neglect some of the puppies.

You will need a separate puppy box. Small vinyl shoe boxes work well for this. Have it lined with a heating pad and a soft, flannel baby blanket. After the mother has whelped her second puppy, remove the first and place in the puppy box. Sometimes this is hard to do. Mothers are very possessive of their babies. It is important to warm up newborn puppies as soon as possible and the mother's whelping box will most likely be cold and full of whelping fluids.

It is more important now to get the babies as warm as possible. You can place another baby receiving blanket over the puppy box to make an incubator-type atmosphere and hold in the heat. If puppies settle down and do not cry, the temperature is just right. There will be plenty of time for them to be with mom after all puppies are whelped.

If time in between puppies seems to be long, you can place the puppies back with mom to nurse if they will. This helps stimulate the labor pains of the mother and to deliver the next puppies. If puppies refuse to nurse, place them back in the warming box. Change the whelping box blankets or towels after the 3rd puppy is whelped. Mom will need the smell of her newly whelped puppies to wake up her instincts to continue deliveries, cutting cords and tending to her offspring.

The heating pads should be square or slightly rectangular, be waterproof, have a protective cover and be free of any strings or ribbons. Heating pads must have a variety of temperature settings and an automatic turn-off switch for safety. Have this puppy box warmed and ready to receive the newborns. As mentioned before if puppies are sleeping quietly, the temperature is just right. If the puppies move about crying, they are either too hot or too cold. If the puppies are bobbing their heads and crying, they are hungry. Attempt to place them on the mother to nurse. As soon as all puppies are whelped, place clean linens in the whelping box and all the puppies back with mom to nurse. Place the heating pad in the box with mom and puppies. I keep my entire nursery room at 80 degrees the entire time puppies are being raised.

You may also need the following items: sterile hemostats or sterilized blunt-end scissors, heavy sterile silk sewing thread, dental floss or heavy sterile silk sutures, petroleum or lubricating jelly, several pairs of sterile surgical gloves, a rubber pediatric bulb syringe, surgical antiseptic scrub for your hands. Ink pen and paper.

The well-equipped "doggie midwife" will also have on hand a tube feeder and syringe, and/or puppy nursing bottles, and some puppy milk replacer.

    Teething Toy Puppies

Toy puppies will not be able to chew their way through a whole lot of surfaces, but they can chew at irreplaceable furniture and moldings enough to do quite a bit of damage. Be sure to puppy-proof your home before the curious, mischievous and teething toy puppy arrives.

Electrical cords and wires are especially hazardous to teething toy puppies or any puppy for that matter. They need to be out of reach or taped to walls. A puppy could electrocute himself while happily chewing away on an electrical cord. Regularly look for dropped pens, pencils, rubber bands, paper clips, and children's small toys on your floor. Teething puppies can be very mouthy, chewing on everything they can latch onto. Provide your puppies and dogs with appropriate and nutritious chew treats such as those offered through Life's Abundance:

    Buffalo Meat Strips
    • Free-range, grass-fed buffalo
    • No additives or preservatives
    • Pure chewing satisfaction without digestive upset
    • Product of India
All dogs - big and small - love chew treats. But they also love the pleasure of devouring pure meat. Our Buffalo Meat Strips will satisfy your canine’s instinctive desires and provide them with wholesome dog treats that are nourishing and healthy.

    These wholesome dog treats …

    • Supply a leaner alternative to beef
    • Are suitable for dogs with food sensitivities
    • Contain no additives or preservatives
    • Provide a rewarding chewing experience

Our drool-worthy chew treats will make your precious pooch instantly go from begging to blissfully content.

You can also ask your vet for oral cleansing gel to apply topically for control of bacteria and aid in healing injured or sore gums while puppies are teething.

Don't forget to keep your books, shoes and clothing out of harm's way of a teething puppy. Crate the puppy when you're out of the house or confine him in a safe area with all his appropriate chew treats and toys.

If you catch your puppy chewing something inappropriate, sternly say NO and give your puppy an appropriate chew treat or toy. Praise him when he begins to chew on the appropriate item.

Bitter-tasting liquids are very helpful to apply to your furniture and handy to use on a bandage after a veterinary procedure to keep dogs and puppies from chewing the bandage.

When the permanent teeth begin to erupt, provide your toy puppy with an appropriate chew toy, something that is soft and that is not going to be swallowed and cause intestinal blockages. Choose an assortment of toys of all textures.

In fact, dogs need to chew throughout their lives. It is wise to provide your adult toy dog with plenty of chew toys and nutritional chew treats from Life's Abundance that are soft and hard. Select items that are the right size for your toy breed puppy or dog. Choose carefully because some of the toys on the market might be just a little too hard for a toy breed. Avoid cow hooves with sharp edges. Broken teeth and sliced gums can be a real problem for dogs and puppies who chew on processed cow hooves.

Some vet dental consultants think toys that look like stringy dental floss are like chewing on a rag and can be loaded with harmful bacteria when they get dirty. Wash your toy puppy's toys often in the washer along with their other belongings and use Clorox bleach in the wash.

Also avoid rawhide strips or rawhide of any kind. An excellent alternative to rawhide strips and chews are the Porky Puffs from Life's Abundance:

    Porky Puffs

    • Irresistible flavor and chewing satisfaction
    • 100% pork snouts
    • No harsh preservatives or artificial flavors and colors
    • Made in the USA
Dogs can’t resist the rich aroma of our delicious pig snouts. Packed with high-quality protein, Porky Puffs chewable treats are non-greasy and contain no artificial preservatives or flavors. And with no artificial colors, you won’t have to worry about hard-to-remove stains in your carpet!
They are easily digestible and therefore a safe alternative to rawhide, which can cause choking, throat irritations and potentially dangerous intestinal blockages.
Since the digestive system is the first line of immune defense, treating your dog to a Porky Puff won’t put a strain on his or her health, like other highly-processed products on the market today. You’ll feel better providing a treat they’ll love, while helping to maintaining a healthy digestive system. And Porky Puffs are appropriate for dogs of all ages.
Give your sweet pup something to be truly thankful for – yummy Porky Puffs!
    Made in the USA.
