The American Foxhound: America's Rarest Native Breed

He is a tall hound with a close, hard coat that can be any color. He is used in America for four main purposes:

American Foxhound from 1915
  1. Competitive Field Trial Hounds (speed is most important)
  2. Trail Hounds (speed is most important)
  3. Fox Hunting Hounds (slow workers with good voices)
  4. Pack Hounds (15 to 20 hounds or more used by hunt clubs and farmers)

He is cousin to the English Foxhound.

The American Foxhounds transported from England to the American colonies in 1650 were developed by Robert Brooke according to breed researchers. These hounds formed the basis of several strains of American Hounds. As time went on, hounds from France and England were brought to the American colonies to further develop the breed.

As with other hound breeds, you will notice the American Foxhound is independent with a stubborn streak. Foxhounds raised with other dogs more than people will bond more with their pack. It takes time, attention and careful training to help these get used to being a family dog.

Of course, if you raise the American Foxhound as a puppy within your family unit or with human companions, you won't have this problem. Socialize them when they are young to as many different people, dogs, sights, sounds and experiences as is possible. Source: American Kennel Club

The American English Coonhound: Capable of Hunting Fox and Raccoon All Night Long

This well conditioned hound is known most for his speed and endurance. His strength plus grace and attitude puts him in the category of a well-conditioned athlete. His effortless trot shows off his endurance. It is agreed upon by 94% of people as according to the American Kennel Club, that the American English Coonhound also makes a good family pet and is good with children.

Where did he come from?

The American English Coonhound ancestry traces back to the European scent hounds. He along with dozens of different scent-hound breeds were developed across Europe where hunting was extremely important especially in France and England. In these two countries the scent-hound breeding programs became most important.

Fox hunting was growing in popularity in Britain when the first British colonies were being established. Many of the colonists were fox hunters and emigrated to the New World with their English Foxhounds. A pack of English Foxhounds were documented in Maryland 1650 by Robert Brooke who eventually became "Master of Hounds" in the new world.

Do you want a good running or cycling partner? This guy will be ideal. They require plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep them occupied, fit and healthy. He will enjoy jogging in the park with you as well as napping on the couch after a good jog. Always walk him on a leash as these hounds are prey-driven. He will require a firm, but kind hand for successful training. Repetition and patience are key components to his training program. Start training early and have plenty of training treats on hand to reinforce his good habits and success. Training will be lifelong. . Source: American Kennel Club

I also recommend you give this dog a daily agility supplement:

  • MSM for musculoskeletal health
  • Glucosamine for bone & cartilage health
  • Hyaluronic acid to aid cartilage strength & mobility
  • Sea mussels to support joint integrity
Good joint health is crucial to your companion animal’s wellbeing. The ability to walk, run and jump represents a large part of your pet kids unique ability to express emotion. Unfortunately, aching and stiff joints are just as much a part of aging for dogs and cats as it is for humans. In fact, tens of millions of dogs and cats experience some form of joint challenges.

At present, several hip-and-joint formulas are marketed for companion animals. Unfortunately, most of these products treat the joint as an isolated goal; it is for this reason that they do not work as well as they could.

Our Agility supplement
is a holistic formula, which means that it takes into account the needs of the whole body, including all the parts that work with the joints.

This formula helps maintain healthy joint cartilage and connective tissue, and to aid in the production of healthy synovial fluid, which lubricates the joints. This supplement features Glucosamine, MSM, sea mussels and hyaluronic acid. Agility Formula is a holistic, multi-action joint support formula containing scientifically-tested ingredients.

Glucosamine helps maintain and promote joint and connective tissue health. It has been shown to be essential in the healthy development and ongoing maintenance of connective tissue and synovial fluid. Research studies indicate that Glucosamine supports healthy joint flexibility, mobility and lubrication. Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a natural source of organic sulfur, an element vital to the maintenance of healthy joints, bones, ligaments and tendons.

Sea mussels also contain Chondroitin Sulfate, which works in tandem with Glucosamine. And hyaluronic acid helps to keep cartilage strong and flexible to better cushion joints. These nutrients work synergistically with the other ingredients in Agility (vitamins E and C, boswellia serrata, alfalfa leaf extract, chondroitin sulfate, manganese and boron) to supply your companion animal with a comprehensive formula to help maintain the health of the entire musculoskeletal system.

And last but not least, this holistic formula has a delicious flavor that your furry friends will love! Join thousands of satisfied customers, and help your pet kids lead a healthier and happier life with Agility Formula.

If you decide to raise the American English Coonhound, why not choose Life's Abundance to feed and also to sell to your puppy buyers. Life's Abundance is a healthy pet food and pet product company. When you sell your puppies, you will have to at least recommend a puppy food for your buyers. Are you getting paid for the food you recommend?

It is possible to recommend and feed a food in which you get paid month after month for feeding and recommending to new puppy buyers. When you join Life's Abundance as an independent representative team members will begin immediately working with you to help get the cost of pet products covered as well as at the same time building an income from there.

American-akita
Where exactly in Japan was our Akita born? The Japanese island of Honshu.

The Akita responds best to respectful commands, positive training techniques and rely upon motivation rather than force. One good way to start out right with training an Akita puppy is to offer him tasty treats. Life's Abundance boast an array of tasty treats most every dog breed just adores.

The Akita dog breed can climb and dig. Be sure to have a secure six foot fenced area when outdoors. They need to be an important part of their family's household, so do not confine them to the outdoors.

Exercise level is medium. The Akita should be happy with a good daily walk or jog with you or a family member.

Do not allow them to run free as the Akita has powerful hunting instincts around other animals. The adults are big and playful and can be quite silly sometimes. They love to romp and play and they thrive best on human companionship.

If you desire to kennel or crate them, start early as puppies. They require proper containment at all times.

If you decide to raise Akita puppies for sale, consider becoming a Life's Abundance Independent Representative. You will be able to build a team that eventually will pay for all your pet products. You can join their breeder program and receive huge bags of dog food with discounts to feed your own "eventually for FREE." It does not take long to talk to other breeders and have several Akita breeders under you all feeding Life's Abundance pet products and earning an income while you raise your puppies.

The Clever and Confident Airedale Terrier

He is the largest of all terriers. The males stand about 23 inches at the shoulder. The females are smaller. He or she could end up weighing 50 to 70 pounds, so not a small dog at all, but a large dog by all description. He or she is a terrier who is alert and willing plus much, much more.
Airedale Terrier
Where did the Airedale Terrier come from?

The Aire River valley in England is most likely the origin of this dog breed. They were developed by crossing a Terrier with an Otter Hound in the mid-1800s.

Large rats lived on the banks of the Aire River. Fascinating is that Yorkshiremen used the Airedale Terrier in competitions that drew a huge audience. Rat hunt competitions consisted of sending ferrets into rat holes to flush out the rats. The Airedales were then used to chase the rates across the banks and into the river. Wouldn't that be a sight to see?

Other uses of the Airedale Terrier include:
  • police duty in Germany and Great Britain.
  • wartime guard
  • messenger duty
  • rodent control
  • hunting birds and games
Personality:

The Airedale Terrier is strong and requires regular exercise for good health and mental well-being. A brisk walk in morning and evening will  help keep the weight down. If weight becomes a problem, you might try using Life's Abundance Adult Weight Loss Food:

Play frisbee or flyball or work agility courses with the Airedale Terrier. A good supplement to add to this dog breed's diet is the Life's Abundance Agility Formula Supplement:

The Airedale Terrier dog breed is eager to learn and remember their lesson well. Try using Life's Abundance Wholesome Hearts Low-Fat Dog Treats as a training aid.

Life's Abundance Tasty Rewards Training Treats is also a good choice for training purposes.

The Airedale Terrier is usually an easily trained dog learning lessons many times on the first try. Your treats will help to train them quickly as well as make them happy to please you. You might choose to train or exercise your Airedale Terrier in the hunting/working class, the obedience class, or agility, even a search and rescue class - all of these classes are options for training the Airedale Terrier. Remember to stay calm, and in control, always keeping a positive outlook. They are very anxious to learn and meet whatever challenge you give them. Keep in mind that due to their high intelligence, this breed may become bored easily. Many different activities is best for him.

The Alaskan Malamute is the Largest and Oldest of the Arctic Sled Dogs

He is a very strong sled dog able to work for hours and hours carrying large loads over long distances. He is not a race dog. The Alaskan Malamute is also a great family pet who would enjoy sledding in the deepest of snow falls. He also enjoys weight-pulling, back-packing, jogging and swimming with their human companions.

His appearance includes a thick, coarse coat while carrying a plumed tail over his back.

Alaskan Malamute

Where did they come from? Animal historians believe the Alaskan Malamute is a descendant of the domesticated wolf-dogs who came with Paleolithic hunters as they crossed the land bridges of the Bering Strait and into North America about 4,000 years ago. Wow! What a history this dog has.

It is also believe that this dog breed was probably the first dogs associated with mankind. Bone and ivory carvings made thousands of years ago describe dogs nearly identical to the Malamute.

They need daily exercise and lots of fenced in space outside. Puppies are affectionate and lively. Chewing is one of this dog's worst habits. Provide him with plenty of chew toys and treats.

The Alaskan Malamute learns quickly as he is highly intelligent. He will grow into a majestic and dignified, yet strong-willed and self-confident adult. This breed loves children, but as with all large breed, close supervision when with children is always recommended.

He may not make a good guard dog, but his size alone will help discourage intruders to your home.

Socialize him well with humans and other animals to avoid becoming dominant over people or other animals he does not respect. Use sensible training with love and discipline and your Alaskan Malamute will grow into a devoted, trustworthy companion.

The Charming, Sweet and Profoundly Loyal Afghan Hound

This elegant beautiful dog breed with a thick flowing coat has been famous since ancient times for its beauty and charm. The Afghan's long coat served as protection from a harsh climate in mountainous regions where Afghans were first kept. The breed is much more than glamorous. They are a powerful and agile hound as tall as 27 inches at the shoulder and built for a long day's labor of hunt. Huge paws protected the Afghan Hounds against their homeland's rough terrain.

Small Dog Confidence (6034999613) (cropped)

In fact, there is very little known for certain where the Afghan Hound first originated. A major theory states the breed first appeared in the Middle East and then found its way into Afghanistan through Persia. It first appeared in the United States in 1926.

Being an aristocrat among other hound breeds, his entire appearance is one of dignity and aloofness. He has not traces of being just a plain hound dog. His head is carried straight and proud as his eyes look way into the distance as if always in memory of his ancient past.

Other striking breed-exotic characteristics include a long silky topknot, a peculiar coat pattern, large feet, extra prominent hipbones and a bend in the stifle that gives the true statement of what he is and that is "King of dogs," that holds true to tradition from ancient times up until the present time.

His tail is set not too high on the body with a ring or a curve on the end. Faults in the tail of the Afghan Hound include a tail curled over, or that rest on the back, or is carried sideways, the tail should never be bushy. When he runs free, he moves as if in a beautiful, elegant yet powerful gallop. On a loose lead, the Afghan can trot at a fast pace

The Afghan hound standard weight is about 60 pounds for the dogs and bitches around 50 pounds.
Moving with head and tail high, the whole appearance is one of a hound of great style and beauty.

The Afghan hound is very active and thus will require a lot of space for exercise. They need fenced-in running space and brisk walks. They are said to be good with children, but better with children under supervision. They shed in frequently and are hypoallergenic which make them a nice choice for people with allergies to dogs.

The Loyal and Funny Affenpinscher

When I first saw the face of an Affenpincher I was in love. This dog breed has a look that immediately says to me, I will make you laugh, I will make you happy and I will be your very best friend.

This dog belongs to the Toy Group, standing less than a foot tall with average weight of 7 to 10 pounds. These sturdy, terrier-like dogs are nicknamed "monkey dogs," "ape dogs" are somewhat active. Exercise needs are satisfied with a brisk walk and plenty of play time.

They are said to be good with children, but better with supervision, and will bark when necessary. Their intelligence and sweet personality make them a good choice as a house dog.

The Affenpinscher or "monkey-like-terrier dog" main purpose at one time was to serve as a rodent catcher. An interesting fact about this breed is that in France they are described as the "Diablotin Moustachu or Moustached little devil.

This little dog is a delightful breed. He or she has a neat but shaggy appearance and is sturdy or compact, not a delicate dog in any way, which also makes it a good companion for children who like to romp and play.

Basic color is usually black, but other colors are also acceptable such as gray, silver, red, black and tan or beige.
