The Dogo Argentino Hunting Dog

The Dogo Argentino was developed by Antonio Nores Martinez in 1920 in Argentina. He or she is a pack hunting dog raised for the pursuit of big-game like the wild boar and puma. This dog has great strength and intelligence. The coat is short, plain, smooth and white with a dark patch near the eye on some.




You can expect he or she to be loyal, trustworthy and courageous. This dog breed requires vigorous exercise to stay at their best physically and temperamental. He or she requires supervision around children. Shedding is infrequent and grooming is occasional.

An adult male will stand 24 to 27 inches while the adult female stands at 23.5-26 inches. Weight will be around 80 to 100 pounds. You can expect this dog to live 9 to 15 years.
