The Short-Legged Drever is a Scenthound From Sweden

The Drever Scenthound's work role in life is mainly hunting deer for us humans. We could use plenty of these in Indiana as we explode with a deer population. The Drever is descended from the Westphalian Dachsbracke, a type of German hound.




He is a working dog with short fur, any color with white markings, but not all white. He has drop or hanging ears of a hound and a long tail. Maximum height is about 15 inches.

The Drever has been bred to hunt all sizes of game such as hares, roe deer, fox and red deer. He has lots of energy and is a popular hunting hound for deer hunters in northern Norway, Sweden and Norway. In Norway they are used mainly to hunt hare and fox. These dogs work especially well in heavy snow because of the medium size body and short legs. The Drever dogs are usually kept as a hunting dog and not a pet.

He is a spaniel-type hunting dog from the Dutch province of Drenthe used to hunt fowl and one who adapts well to the field or marshes. A valid color is white with brown or orange markings.
