Most dogs are eager to get any size bite of cheese. Makes you kind of wonder if maybe they are friends to or related to the mouse!

 The problem with giving cheese treats at any time is that many dogs are intolerant of cheese. Even if you find your dog has no problems digesting cheese, it is still best to feed cheese in moderation.

What are the ingredients of cheese? The following are all great aspects of dog nutrition, however, is cheese one of the healthiest treats to give your dogs?

If you desire to feed your dog cheese, stick with low-fat cheeses like mozzarella, cottage cheese or soft goat cheese. Cottage cheese is notoriously good for humans. We find that dogs tolerate cottage cheese fairly well because it is lower in lactose and this fact helps reduce the risk of stomach upset. Cottage cheese is also lower in fat, which reduces the chances to add on pounds of unnecessary weight.

Still yet, not all dogs tolerate cheese and even cottage cheese well. Dogs with severe cases of lactose intolerance may experience serious reactions to cheese even when given in small quantities.

If you decide to feed your dog any kind of cheese, watch for signs of stomach upset. If there is stomach upset, I say just delete the cheese products from your dog's diet.
