Americans Love Their Salads: Can Fido Share in on the Love of Salads?

What in this world would Americans do without their salads? Salads made with all kinds of healthy ingredients is a wonderful staple in any human's diet. A salad almost always starts with some lettuce.

• Romaine
• arugula
• iceberg

The above varieties are safe for dogs to eat. Lettuce can be a low-calorie snack or even a good training treat if your dog is a bit overweight. Lettuce is about 90% water. Some dogs relish the "crunch" that comes with chewing on lettuce.

Don't give your dog too much or you will cause stomach upset and/or diarrhea.
