Dog diarrhea is a fairly common affliction. Should you rush to the vet or will it pass is the big question. Truth is much like people dogs just sometimes get diarrhea. They do not always need medical attention.

If your dog continues to do well otherwise and just has diarrhea, three to four days of at-home treatment should remedy the problem.
Of course, there is sometimes viruses and bacteria responsible for dog diarrhea which usually presents itself with the dog having a temperature as well. Be sure to check his temperature and if one is present you probably need to see the vet for appropriate evaluation and treatment.
Even dogs up-to-date on monthly prevention can still have breakthrough parasitic infections. A fecal sample taken to your vet can reveal the culprit if this be the case. Sometimes all you have do is take a fecal sample to your vet to determine a parasitic infection.
