The Cairn Terrier Best Known as "Toto" from the Wizard of Oz

The Carin Terrier is a small, hardy working dog. He was originally bred to aid Scottish farmers in ridding their properties of pests. Today, they use their instinctive abilities to excel in obedience, agility, terrier and tracking trials. The breed has a famous movie star dog named "Toto" who played in the movie of the "Wizard of Oz."

They have a general personality of being cheerful, alert, busy and independent-minded. Right in the face they look like a fox! Energy level is active and they are curious little dogs. They will appreciate lots of walks and place to explore with you. They are generally said to be good with children. Supervision is advised when they are with children. They shed seasonally. Grooming chores will be occasional. They train well, and a life expectancy of 13 to 15 years. They are not barkers, but will bark when necessary.

The job of Carin Terrier early on in the 1800's was mainly for bolting otter, foxes and other vermin from among rocks, cliffs and ledges on the wild shores of their misty Western Isles of Scotland. They are known by some as being the "best little pal in the world." I can imagine seeing these little dogs dressed up in Scottish outfits. They are small enough to snuggle in a chair with you yet sturdy enough to romp in the yard with you and your children as well. They fair best with plenty of close contact with their family. I suggest using Life's Abundance grooming products. Their ear cleaner is awesome and if used regularly will most likely save you costly trips to the vet for ear problems.

Benefits for you and your dog or cat companion are:

  • Cleans ears and eliminates odor
  • Painlessly dissolves ear wax
  • No alcohol means no sting
  • Made in the USA
This herbal formula contains a special botanical blend and gentle cleansers. Ear Care Formula safely dissolves waxy build-ups and effectively removes dirt and debris. Aloe vera soothes the sensitive skin of inner ears. With continued use, say ‘hello’ to healthy clean ears that smell terrific!

Gentle enough for puppies and kittens over 12 weeks of age.

Item Size: 4 fl. oz.

But please treat yourself to all the Life's Abundance grooming products. As the ear cleaner should be a staple in any dog's grooming closet, so should the Revitalizing Shampoo. Life's Abundance Revitalizing Shampoo will leave your dog smelling fresh and clean for days after the bath. The coat will also reap fine rewards for you in the way of stunning beauty you probably won't notice with any other shampoo.

I know this was the case for me as when I first used Life's Abundance Revitalizing Shampoo on my Tinker Belle, the shih tzu. She has been lovely now for at least a week after the bath, so I estimate every 2 weeks is a good time to bath the Carin Terrier as well, and right at the 2nd week mark, you will notice the scent fading away and the coat looking as if it needs a renewal of the same treatment.

Life's Abundance full line of grooming products are as follows:

Revitalizing Shampoo

Bath Fresh Mist

Ear Care Formula

Soothing Mist

Other pet safe, family friendly products in Life's Abundance product lines are:

Bio-Base Floor Wash

Bio-Base Biodeodorizer Spray

Stainless Steel Odor Remover
