Can Dogs See Colors Exactly Like Humans?

There are some major differences in what your dog sees and what you or humans see.
They do not see color the way humans do. Humans can see the colors of red, green and blue just as they are. Dogs see red and green almost the same. What is red may look green to a dog. What is green may look red to a dog. They have a limited spectrum of colors they can distinguish.
Some scientists have said dogs can't see any colors at all, but the latest I have read on this subject says they can see some colors, but not exactly like humans see color.
A dog explores his world much more with the nose. Movement is also another way in which dogs "see" things around them. It is just that they do not see our world in the same bright technicolor that we see, which is a shame I suppose, but then again, perhaps it is dogs just don't need to see the world as humans see it. From birth they learn how to feed solely from their nose and finding the scent of their mother's milk. They have no need to see what color mom is in order to nurse.
Just know that next time your dog looks you over, he or she is not seeing the exact colors you are or the exact colors you are wearing, especially if you are wearing red or green. You might have on green, but your don't sees red. Our dogs are so smart in so many ways, I guess humans just took it for granted they see exactly as we see. Just not the truth of the matter. And of course humans do not go around in this world smelling their way around, at least, most humans don't anyway. We use our eyes, nose and ears combined, unlike dogs who obviously use more "scent" and "movements around them."
