History and Heritage
Recognized in Spain since 1911, the breed’s roots trace back to ancient Pyrenean herding dogs. It was nearly lost during World War II but revived in the 1970s by dedicated breeders. The Catalan Sheepdog even served as a mascot for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
